johnarmanini.com
This site covers a wide range of things that I am interested in for both work and play.
Menu Items :
- "Fairfield Weather" is a summary of weather conditions in Fairfield.
- "Wind Turbines" 275 ft tall monsters that I knew and loved
- "Karate" Typical days at my "Kajukenbo" school.
- "Geological Data" will cover local earthquakes (Not Working Yet).
I incorporate some items that relate to my work as some of the time spent on development of this site is time paid for by our company TavNetworks.com. A lot of my own time is devoted to this as well.
Menu item "About Me" is my Bio and company background.
FTP/About Sys has an FTP link and describes system details.
Background
The "Fairfield Weather" project and later the "Geological Data" project were started as a means to acquire, move and present data for a device known as a TNR. An actual TNR has not been constructed yet.
These projects are used as an exercise to accomplish similar data operations as required by the TNR. A generic Linux microcomputer known as Raspberry Pi (RPi) is used in the Weather Monitor and Geological Data gathering device. A custom Linux micro will be used in the TNR.
The TNR is to be a Utility Power Line monitoring product and/or Smart Meter communications repeater that can be mounted on a Utility Pole, Utility Power Line, Radio Tower or on the top of a Wind Turbine.
Various forms of communication (backhaul) are to be tested throughout the life of the project. This may include 802.15.4g, VSAT, TavSAT, etc.
